Para Standing Neuro/Muscular

Definition of class.

  • Athletes with neurological or neuro-motor disorders, muscle-loss or muscle-deficiency disorders or injuries, or limb-length deficiencies managed without a prosthetic.

  • All Highland Games rules and regulations apply other than identified permissible adaptations and event weights.

Permissible adaptations.

  • Splints, straps, or other bracing to support or protect limbs in dynamic movements.

Event weights — Men — Open tier. Required for record eligibility at Field, National, Continental, and World levels.

  • Caber — approximate equivalent for reference: Women's to Masters Caber, depending on adaptive capability. (No Caber records kept.)

  • Sheaf Toss — 12 lb

  • Light Hammer — 12 lb

  • Heavy Hammer — 16 lb

  • Weight for Height — 42 lb

  • Light Weight for Distance — 28 lb

  • Heavy Weight for Distance — 42 lb

  • Open Stone — 16–22 lb

  • Braemar Stone — 20–26 lb

Adaptive Masters tiers. Sheaf, Weight for Height, and Heavy Weight for Distance each drop one implement step at M40+, and the drop pattern extends at SM50+. Full schedule in the framework.
