Para Standing Lower Limb Loss

Definition of class.

  • Athletes missing a foot to a full loss of one or both legs.

  • All Highland Games rules and regulations apply other than identified permissible adaptations and event weights.

Routing edge case. Athletes with limb-length deficiencies who use a prosthetic limb are placed in Lower Limb Loss. Limb-length deficiencies managed without a prosthetic are placed in Neuro/Muscular.

Permissible adaptations.

  • Prosthetic leg or legs.

Event weights — Men — Open tier. Required for record eligibility at Field, National, Continental, and World levels.

  • Caber — approximate equivalent for reference: Women's to Masters Caber, depending on adaptive capability. (No Caber records kept.)

  • Sheaf Toss — 12 lb

  • Light Hammer — 12 lb

  • Heavy Hammer — 16 lb

  • Weight for Height — 42 lb

  • Light Weight for Distance — 28 lb

  • Heavy Weight for Distance — 42 lb

  • Open Stone — 16–22 lb

  • Braemar Stone — 20–26 lb
